Balkan Party Band

Balkan Party Band was formed in the summer of 2017 in Plzeň, when a group of friends playing wind instruments met on the street. Inspired by a street festival of Balkan brass bands in the Serbian town of Guča, they began staging impromptu concerts in restaurants and bars, played in Plzeň trams, and organized various other "surprise performances". Their model at the time was the Balkan orchestras from Kusturica's films.

From the original busking project, a six-piece band gradually emerged, featuring trumpet, saxophone, alto saxophone, tuba, drums, and vocals. Their repertoire includes well-known pieces such as Hava Nagila, Bella Ciao, Mesečina, and Bubamara, alongside their own arrangements of lesser-known songs and original compositions.

The band performs most frequently at weddings, celebrations, and music clubs throughout the Czech Republic and Germany. Their performances have included concerts at Václav Koubek's farm in Chotěmice, a Balkan party at Prague's Rock Café, and the Švestka festival.
