Ikarie XB 1

It is the second half of the 22nd century, and the spaceship Ikarie XB 1 is heading toward Alpha Centauri in search of extraterrestrial life. A crew of scientists from various disciplines faces unknown and unimaginable threats far from the solar system - while also carrying with them the everyday human joys and sorrows.

Kalish's black-and-white cinematography in widescreen format, Lishka's pioneering electronic music, and convincing sets and costumes together create a stylistically refined vision of the distant future.
