Jana bude brzy sbírat lipový květ

Actors Jenovéfa Boková and David Matásek from the Viola Theatre will perform poems by Miloš Doležal from the collection "Jana bude brzy sbírat lipový květ". Doležal published it shortly after the death of his wife Jana - as a way to come to terms with the loss of a beloved person. His poetry is moving, though not exclusively mournful: the author recalls joyful moments of meeting, marriage, and shared life, and the work carries the idea that a strong love does not end with death.
Director Beata Parkanová has transformed Doležal's collection into a stage poem - a cohesive story about powerful love - using original projections and live music. The performance lasts 60 minutes without intermission.
The collection of the same name won the title "Book of the Year 2022" in the Magnesia Litera competition. Published by Revolver Revue.
Creative team: direction and stage adaptation Beata Parkanová, dramaturgical consultation Marta Ljubková, set design Gašper Šnuderl, costumes Josefina Bakošová, music Jan P. Muchow, projections Beata Parkanová, production manager Pavel Vaněk, photography Martin Špelda.
The production was created for the intimate space of the Viola Theatre; the touring version is adapted according to the spatial and technical possibilities of the host institution. The performance takes place as part of the 69th edition of the Bezručova Opava festival.
