Floorwork Techniques

At MOVE Fest, you don't just watch - you can move and learn from contemporary dance scene instructors. One of them is Finnish choreographer and dancer Jarkko Mandelin, who brings his Floorwork Techniques workshop to Ostrava.

The class focuses on contact with the floor and approaching it as a space for movement - how to transition smoothly to the ground, work with body folding, weight transfer, and momentum creation. In the second part of the workshop, these movement principles are applied to choreography and improvisation structures.

The workshop is designed for intermediate dancers, performed barefoot, and conducted in English. On Tuesday, the Partnering Tools workshop follows, focusing on partner work and acrobatic principles.

Tickets work on a "pay what you can" basis - participants choose from the offered prices according to their means.
