Art Up Close: The Raw Poetry of Brutalist Architecture
Sat, 19 Sep 2026 · 16:00
A guided tour of the exhibition "1956-1989: Architecture for All" on the second floor of the Trade Fair Palace, focusing on brutalist architecture in Czechoslovakia - a subject that continues to provoke mixed reactions. The tour will explore local and international contexts, the specifics of this style, and selected figures: the married couples Machonin and Šrámek, and Karel Prager. The tour is led by art historian Markéta Čejková.
This event is part of the "Art Up Close" series, which each time focuses on a specific part of the collections and places the chosen theme in a broader context.
