Nadia and Samara, two young Romani sisters, sell toys on a tourist beach in Greece. Holidaymakers, intrigued by their daily lives, greet them with varying degrees of interest and indifference - until tragedy reveals the limits of their humanity.

Romani filmmaker and activist Liza Mortimer searches archival collections for her great-grandmother Minta Smith. A personal quest for one life story gradually expands into an uncovering of the interconnected legacy of Romani voices, songs and cultural influence rooted in traditional English folk music.

Twenty-five years after leaving, queer Romani photographer Béla Váradi returns to his native countryside in Hungary. Despite his own doubts and local resistance, he organizes an exhibition of his photographs - in a country where his identity faces state repression, an act akin to social intervention.
