Goat's Milk

The production "Goat's Milk" by Panoptikum Theatre is based on the eponymous text by Ján Skalka - a dramatic communist agitprop piece that uses elements of village life, folk culture, and folklore as propaganda tools. The entire concept of the performance is built on its motifs.

The result is a bittersweet dialogue about who actually is and is not Slovak, what is and is not Slovak.

"We would like to be a chosen nation. Better than everyone else. But perhaps God never chose us at all. He even looks at us reluctantly. We want to be those adorable, fluffy sheep in the pasture, but in reality we are... goats."
