About

Vojtěch Pelka is a Czech countertenor and a pioneer of the countertenor repertoire in his home country. He trained at the Jan Deyl Conservatory in Prague and works regularly with ensembles including Musica Florea, Collegium Marianum, and the Pilsen Philharmonic. His competition record includes 2nd Prize and the Audience Award at the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition (2025) and the Audience Award at the Cesti Competition in Innsbruck (2024). In the 2025/2026 season he makes his debut at the National Theatre Brno as Nero in Handel's Agrippina and sings the title role in Mysliveček's Il gran Tamerlano in Plzeň and at the Musica Bayreuth festival.

    Vojtěch Pelka was selected as a resident artist for the jubilee 20th edition of the Klášterní hudební slavnosti 2026 festival.

  • 2025/2026

    In the 2025/2026 season, Pelka makes his debut at the National Theatre Brno as Nero in Handel's Agrippina accompanied by Collegia 1704 under the direction of Václav Lukse.

    At the personal invitation of director Laurent Brunner, Pelka performed as a guest at the gala concert Les Trois Contre-ténors at the Opéra Royal de Versailles.

    At the 10th International Renata Tebaldi Singing Competition in San Marino, Pelka won 2nd prize and the Audience Prize.

  • 2024-08

    At the Pietra Antonio Cesti competition in Innsbruck, part of the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Pelka won the Audience Prize.
