Ondrášova valaška 2026
The sixth edition of the Ondrášova valaška folklore showcase brings artistic and folk ensembles to Rožnov. A rich programme awaits visitors in the Wooden Town area of the Wallachian Open-Air Museum.
The Military Artistic Ensemble Ondráš is a professional folk ensemble based in Brno, funded by the Czech Ministry of Defence - the only body of its kind in the country. It brings together a folk instrument orchestra, a dance group and a girls' choir. Founded in Olomouc in 1954, it took its current name in 1993 after the legendary Silesian outlaw Ondráš, shifting its focus to the folk traditions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The ensemble gives between 150 and 200 performances a year, both at home and abroad.
VUS Ondráš will perform at the VI. edition of the Ondrášova valaška festival in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm (July 3-4, 2026) with the program Karpatami.
The ensemble has been confirmed as a performer at the International Folk Festival Červený Kostelec 2026, where it celebrates the 70th anniversary together with the festival.
In July 2025, the ensemble performed at the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary with the program Hraje cimbálová muzika.
The Brno premiere of the new production Bohyně took place on November 27 and 28, 2024 at the Husa na provázku Theatre.
In October 2024, the ensemble celebrated its 70th anniversary with a gala program Ondráš 70 at the Janáček Theatre in Brno.
