About

Vladimír Šafránek is a Czech singer and one of the founders of the band Harlej, which he set up with guitarist Antonín Rauer in 1994. He co-wrote many of the band's rhythmic melodies in their self-styled "crazy-rock" genre, known for lively grooves and offbeat, often absurd lyrics. Harlej remains one of the distinctive names in Czech rock.
