About

Visací zámek (literally 'Padlock') is a Prague punk-rock band founded in 1982 by five civil engineering students at the Czech Technical University, originally intending to play just one gig. They have performed in the same lineup ever since - vocalist Jan Haubert alongside Michal Pixa, Ivan Rut, Vladimír Šťástka and Jiří Pátek - making them one of the longest-running unchanged punk bands in Europe. During the communist normalization era they were forced to operate under aliases, yet built a devoted following that has only grown over four decades. In 2010 they were inducted into the Czech Beat Hall of Fame by listeners of Radio Beat.
