About

Viktor Ivanov (1909-1981) was a Ukrainian Soviet film director, trained at Moscow's VGIK under Sergei Eisenstein. He spent most of his career at the Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv, directing around ten films. His 1961 comedy Chasing Two Hares became one of the most beloved titles in Ukrainian cinema - though the Soviet authorities banned him from directing for four years after its release.
