Věra Čáslavská was a Czech artistic gymnast and one of the most decorated Olympic athletes in history. She won seven Olympic gold medals and four silver medals between 1960 and 1968. She was also known for her civic courage — signing the Two Thousand Words manifesto in 1968 and silently protesting the Soviet invasion during the Mexico City Olympics.
