About

Vanaheim is a Czech heavy/viking metal band from Chlumec nad Cidlinou, formed in December 2015. Their name and lyrics draw on Norse mythology - they sing in Czech about Vikings, Nordic gods and legends. In ten years they have released four full-length albums and two EPs, played Metalfest, Masters of Rock and The Legends Rock Fest, and in 2025 filmed a music video on location in Norway.

What's new

  • 2026-03

    Vanaheim released their fourth studio album on March 21, 2026 as a gift for the band's 10th anniversary and christened it at the Chlumec sokol hall.

  • 2025-08

    At the June Metalfest 2025 in Plzen, Vanaheim was the only Czech band in the program.

  • 2025

    The band filmed a music video for the song Devět světů in Norway, with a local museum lending a historical longship for the shoot.

  • 2024

    They released the single HEL, the second in a series of singles preceding the new album.

  • 2023

    They released the EP Lokiho krev, and with singer Miloš Koblmüller having suffered cardiac arrest, Ondra Marek from the bands RoXor and Argos temporarily joined.
