Václav Hudeček (born 7 June 1952 in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem) is a Czech violin virtuoso who launched his international career at fifteen with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. As the last pupil of David Oistrach (1970-1974), he carries a direct line to the Russian violin school, and has since performed at Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House and other leading venues worldwide. Alongside his solo career he runs the Akademie Václava Hudečka in Luhačovice and the Svátky hudby festival in Prague, nurturing successive generations of young Czech violinists.
