Túfaranka

About

Túfaranka is a brass band from Šakvice in South Moravia, founded in 1978 by local musician Josef Šural as a youth ensemble. It ranks among the most decorated Czech wind bands, having won the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (Netherlands) in both 1993 and 1998, and claiming the European championship title at the EUREGIO festival in Sonthofen (Germany) in 2005. Under bandleader Jan Bílek, the ensemble performs in traditional folk costumes, keeping the Slovácko region's brass-band heritage alive.
