Portáš Celebrations in Valašská Bystřice 2026
A festival celebrating the history of Czech portáš militia and police forces, featuring folk music, equestrian displays, and activities for children.
Valašský soubor Troják is a folk ensemble founded in 1991 in Valašská Bystřice, a village in the Beskydy foothills of Moravia, under the direction of Anna Adamcová, who drew on the legacy of her grandfather Jan Stavinoha, a musician in the historic Zezulka cimbalom band. In 1997 the ensemble added its own cimbalom music group, led by Libor Obšivač with Adamcová as lead violinist. The name comes from the local peak Tanečnice, called Troják because three village boundaries meet at its summit. The ensemble performs at folk festivals across the Czech Republic and abroad, and organises traditional seasonal events in the village throughout the year.
The Valašský soubor Troják performed in January 2026 at the Valašský ball of the Bartošova ensemble in the Congress Center in Zlín accompanied by their own cimbalom orchestra.
The Troják ensemble is preparing for the 16th edition of the Portášských slavnosti festival in Valašská Bystřice, which will take place on July 10-12, 2026.
The cimbalom orchestra and the Troják ensemble performed a program of Christmas songs and carols in December 2024 in Valašská Bystřice and in Kozmicích.
In January 2025, the ensemble performed a program of Christmas songs and carols in Prostřední Bečvě.
Czech Radio Brno dedicated a program Na pěknú notečku in November 2023 to the new musical release of the Troják cimbalom orchestra titled Zazpívaj, kohútku!
