Toto is an American rock band founded in Los Angeles in 1977 by a circle of seasoned session musicians including David Paich, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather. Their ability to blend rock, pop, soul and funk into a seamless whole set them apart, and the 1982 album Toto IV - home to Africa and Rosanna - earned six Grammy Awards and made them one of the era's best-selling acts. Cumulative album sales now exceed 50 million copies, and Africa holds RIAA Diamond certification for over ten million US sales alone.
