Sonata Arctica is a Finnish power metal band formed in 1996 in Kemi. Known for melodic songwriting driven by keyboard lines and fast guitar riffs, the band is fronted by vocalist Tony Kakko. Their debut album Ecliptica (1999) established them as a key act in the European power metal scene.
