Six Feet Under is an American death metal band from Tampa, Florida, active since 1993. Founded as a side project by vocalist Chris Barnes - then still a member of Cannibal Corpse - and guitarist Allen West of Obituary, the band became Barnes' full-time focus after he left Cannibal Corpse in 1995. Over three decades they have released fifteen studio albums and are ranked by Nielsen SoundScan among the four best-selling death metal acts in the United States. Their sound is built on heavy groove-driven riffs, mid-tempo rhythms, and Barnes' signature guttural vocals.
