Shin'ichi Hatori (服部隆之, born 1965) is a Japanese composer and arranger from a three-generation musical family - his grandfather Ryōichi Hattori was a postwar pop legend, his father Katsuhisa Hattori a respected composer. After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, he returned to Japan in 1988 and built a career spanning film, television and concert music, winning three Japan Academy Prize awards for film scores in the late 1990s. He is best known internationally for co-scoring the Studio Ghibli film Arrietty (2010) alongside French harpist Cécile Corbel, and domestically for hit TV dramas such as Hanzawa Naoki and the NHK serial Boogie Woogie (2023).
Hatori composed the music for the animated film Doraemon: Nobita's New Underwater Adventure (映画ドラえもん 新・のび太の海底鬼岩城), which premiered on February 27, 2026.
In March 2025, Hatori presented the music for the next film in the Doraemon series (映画ドラえもん のび太の地球交響楽), which was released on streaming platforms.
The film Doraemon: Nobita's Earth Symphony (2024) with Hatori's soundtrack opened the Japanese box office in first place and earned over 655 million yen in its opening weekend.
Hatori composed the music for the NHK morning television series Boogie Woogie (ブギウギ), whose main character is inspired by singer Shizuko Kasagi - an artist connected to Hatori's grandfather Ryoichi Hatori.
Hatori composed the music for three films in the Kidó senshi Gundam: The Origin (movie edition) series, which were shown in Japanese cinemas throughout 2024.
