Serhiy Zhadan (born 23 August 1974 in Starobilsk, Luhansk Oblast) is a Ukrainian poet, novelist, translator, and frontman of the Kharkiv ska-punk band Zhadan i Sobaky. He has published 12 poetry collections and 7 novels, translated into dozens of languages, and in 2022 received the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. In March 2024 he enlisted in the National Guard of Ukraine's Charter Brigade.
Zhadan is preparing a Kyiv presentation of the new book Hymny barokových válek (Hymns of Baroque Wars) at the Palace of Ukraine on September 20, 2026 - proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Khartiya brigade.
In June 2026, Zhadan made the long list of the Polish literary prize Angelus-2026.
In March 2026, Zhadan visited Sumy and met with young creators in Okhtyrka.
In December 2025, Zhadan received the Polish literary prize named after Jerzy Giedroyc.
In February and March 2025, Zhadan and Sobaky conducted the Charta Tour - a concert tour through cities in eastern, central, and southern Ukraine.
