Sekyra (The Axe) is a novel by Czech writer Ludvík Vaculík, first published in 1966. It is a lyrical narrative interweaving a journey to visit a brother with memories of the narrator's father — a carpenter and worker from the Moravian Wallachian region. The book is considered one of the key works of Czech prose of the 1960s and was banned after 1968.
