Sarah Bernhardt (1844–1923) was a French stage and early film actress, widely regarded as one of the greatest performers of her era. She was celebrated for roles in both classical and contemporary plays, including Hamlet and La Dame aux camélias. Her collaboration with Alfons Mucha, who designed theatrical posters for her, became an iconic symbol of the Art Nouveau movement.
