Radek Baborák (born 1976 in Pardubice) is a Czech horn player and conductor with a global career. At eighteen he joined the Czech Philharmonic as principal horn without an audition, later holding the same post at the Munich Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic (2002-2011). Since 2008 he has built a parallel conducting career, founding the Czech Sinfonietta and leading the Prague Chamber Soloists; from 2026 he holds the title of Honorary Conductor of the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra.
From the 2026 season, Baborák holds the title of honorary conductor of the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra in Mariánské Lázně, where he was chief conductor from 2021-2025.
In January 2026, Baborák performed with the Czech Sinfonietta in Salzburg as both soloist and conductor with a program featuring Mozart's horn concertos.
In April 2026, Baborák led a master class on French horn performance as part of Brass Academy.
PARMA Recordings announced a recording project with Baborák: composers can submit original compositions for French horn, resulting in an album and public concert in 2026 at Prague's Studio Martínek.
In 2025, Baborák made his conducting debut with the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava, the State Philharmonic Košice, and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra in London.
