Matěj Ptaszek is a Czech blues singer and harmonica player ranked among Europe's top performers on the instrument. In 2012 the Polish magazine Twój Blues placed him 15th among the world's best blues harmonica players, and he holds the HOHNER Newcomer 2009 title. After several years playing clubs and festivals in South America, he returned to the Czech Republic and formed the duo Ptaszek & Bužma - Blues and Gospel with fellow bluesman Bužma, focusing on songs from the American South from the first half of the 20th century.
