Petr Váša (born 7 February 1965 in Brno) is a Czech poet, rock singer-songwriter, performer and visual artist, best known as the creator of 'physical poetry' - a genre he has developed since 1991 that fuses spoken word, voice, movement and gesture. He studied art history at Masaryk University and has worked as a freelance artist since the late 1980s. He sings with the bands Ty Syčáci and Jasná páka, teaches physical poetry at art schools, and in January 2025 received the City of Brno Award for literary achievement.
Petr Váša received the City of Brno Prize for 2024 on January 28, 2025 in the literary activity category.
Petr Váša performed at the MikuLOVE festival in Mikulov, where he presented physical poetry with video projection and was a guest at a concert by the band Už jsme doma.
Petr Váša's first prose work for young readers Rajčaťáci a Banáni was published by Host publishing house with illustrations by Magdalena Rutová.
