Paul Batto Jr. was born in 1967 in Ljubljana and left Slovenia in 1987, eventually settling in Tábor in the Czech Republic after years in Switzerland. He spent a decade singing with an American gospel group - an experience that shaped his core conviction that a song must speak to the soul, not just entertain. As a solo artist he weaves blues, soul and gospel with deeply personal lyrics, touring Europe at a pace of around 150 shows a year since 2003. His most recent album, Walking Close (2019), documents a decade of collaboration with Czech pianist Ondřej Kříž.
