Paolo Stoppa (6 June 1906 - 1 May 1988) was an Italian actor and dubber, awarded the Cavaliere di Gran Croce of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 1975. He debuted on stage in 1927 and went on to make some 194 film appearances, ranging from neorealist classics by Vittorio De Sica to Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns. Together with his wife Rina Morelli and director Luchino Visconti, he formed a celebrated theatrical trio whose productions of Chekhov, Shakespeare and Goldoni were among the highlights of postwar Italian theatre.
Stoppa received the Nastro d'Argento award for best male acting performance in a supporting role for the film Il marchese del Grillo.
The Italian state honored Stoppa's artistic career by awarding him the title of Cavaliere di Gran Croce of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
