The Three Tenors in Moravia
Three world-renowned tenors perform in a concert project at Valtice Castle. An evening hosted by Monika Timková and artistic director Michal Lieberzeit, with a presentation of the ALSA charity's work.
Paolo Lardizzone is an Italian lyric tenor from Militello in Val di Catania, Sicily, specialising in the Verdian and Puccinian heroic repertoire. He trained at the Accademia Beniamino Gigli in Recanati and took part in a masterclass with Renato Bruson at the Spoleto Experimental Opera Theatre. Since 2013 he has been a regular guest at Czech and Slovak opera houses, and his 2015 nomination for the Czech Thalie Award - for the title role in Puccini's Edgar - confirmed his standing in Central Europe.
Lardizzone was cast in the role of Ismaele in Nabucco at the 103rd Arena di Verona festival (August 20 and 28, 2026), where he alternates with Francesco Meli and Galeano Salas.
Arena di Verona confirmed Lardizzone in the cast of Aida for the 2026 season alongside Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov.
In November 2023, Lardizzone stepped in for an indisposed tenor in Manon Lescaut in Udine (production by Fondazione Teatro Verdi Trieste) and was praised for a convincing performance in the 3rd and 4th acts.
In November 2023, Lardizzone sang the role of Don Carlo in a co-production of the theaters of Modena, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, and Rimini under the baton of Jordi Bernácer.
The J. K. Tyl Theater in Plzen awarded him a special prize in 2017 for an "unforgettable performance" in the role of Pinkerton in Puccini's Madama Butterfly.
