Pablo de Sarasate (1844–1908) was a Spanish violinist and composer, one of the foremost virtuosos of the 19th century. He is best known for Zigeunerweisen (Gypsy Airs) op. 20, a showpiece that remains a staple of the violin repertoire. His compositions blend Spanish folk idioms with dazzling technical brilliance.
