About

Nick Cave (born 1957, Warracknabeal, Australia) is a singer-songwriter, novelist and frontman of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, which he co-founded in London in 1983 after the break-up of post-punk group The Birthday Party. Over four decades he has released eighteen studio albums spanning gothic rock, art rock and narrative balladry - from the dark Murder Ballads (1996) through the grief-laden Skeleton Tree (2016) and Ghosteen (2019) to the exuberant Wild God (2024). Outside music he writes novels, plays and screenplays, and since 2018 has run an open fan correspondence project called The Red Hand Files.
