Forgotten Mozart Revisited – Multipiano Israel
A chamber concert showcasing lesser-known Mozart in a delicate interpretation by the acclaimed Israeli piano duo Multipiano, with works by Mendelssohn and Moscheles.
MultiPiano is an Israeli piano ensemble founded in 2011 by pianist and educator Tomer Lev under the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University. The group operates as a modular ensemble - its line-up shifts from four hands on one piano to multiple pianos in various multi-hand combinations - with a focus on reviving neglected keyboard repertoire. It has performed on four continents alongside orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic, the Berlin Radio Symphony and the Israel Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta, and made its Carnegie Hall debut in March 2024.
MultiPiano completed a month-long tour of South America, including performances at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and Sala São Paulo with Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Colombia.
The ensemble made its debut at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of an extensive tour of the US East Coast.
A recording with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (world premieres of works by Mendelssohn, Schubert-Liszt, and Moscheles) was released in 2024 by Universal/Hyperion.
The ensemble's second album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was released by Naxos in November 2022; the album ranked among Naxos's best-selling titles for 2022-23.
The ensemble's first commercial recording - Mozart: The Complete Multipiano Concertos with the English Chamber Orchestra - was released by Hyperion Records and reached 6th place on the British classical music chart.
