About

Milion chvilek pro demokracii (A Million Moments for Democracy) is a Czech civic association founded in 2017 as a student petition that quickly grew into a nationwide movement. It became known for organising mass protests in Prague in 2019, drawing over 250,000 people - the largest demonstrations since the Velvet Revolution. The group focuses on defending democratic institutions, media independence and the rule of law, and saw a major resurgence in 2026 under its returning founder Mikuláš Minář.
