Mikuláš Pokorný is a Czech jazz pianist who trained at the Jaroslav Ježek Academy in Prague, the Janáček Academy in Brno, and the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. He leads his own trio, plays in the Prague fusion band Los Quemados, and has worked as a sideman with Laco Déczi and Jan Smigmator. Alongside performing, he works as a music dramaturg at Czech Radio.
Pokorný was a guest on the Jazzotéka program on Czech Radio Jazz, where he presented his musical world and a recording of his trio was played.
The band Los Quemados, of which Pokorný is a member, christened their fifth album Perfect Sphere at Jazz Dock, released on the Amplion Records label.
Pokorný performed in a duet with saxophonist Jan Kyncl at the Prague club U Staré paní.
Pokorný played piano in the VV Brasil project at the club U Staré paní, which brings Latin American rhythms performed by Czech musicians.
Pokorný participates in the FOLK Q project of singer Markéta Foukalová, where he arranges folk songs for a jazz trio.
