Michelle Dockery (born 15 December 1981 in Romford, England) is a British actress and singer who trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She rose to international prominence as Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey (ITV, 2010-2015), earning three consecutive Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination for the role. Beyond Downton, she has starred in the Netflix western Godless (2017), the miniseries Defending Jacob (2020) and Anatomy of a Scandal (2022), and films including The Gentlemen (2019) and Flight Risk (2025).
Michelle Dockery welcomed her first child with husband Jasper Waller-Bridge in early 2026.
