MAOK - Looking for the Way Home
Slovak musician Maok takes the open-air stage of the natural amphitheatre in Řevnice. The evening includes tea catering by Čajomír and goes ahead rain or shine.
Maok is the stage name of Martin Tesák, a Slovak musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer born in Bratislava in 1974. For over 17 years he has been creating improvised music that blends ambient, ethnic and psychedelic elements, with more than 25 albums to his name. He composed the score for Juraj Jakubisko's film Bathory and for several documentaries by Pavol Barabáš, and regularly performs in churches, planetariums and other atmospheric venues across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In April 2025, the first christening of the album Oneiro took place in the Czech Republic - a concert at the Novoměstská Town Hall in Prague.
The album Oneiro was also christened in Slovakia - in the synagogue in Nitra (April 11, 2025).
In November 2025, Maok performed at the Prague Planetarium with the program In the Depths of the Universe II; due to great interest, a second date was added.
In December 2025, Maok performed at the Lučenec Synagogue together with his four brothers, who also pursue music.
The album Oneiro was created over two years in the studio from recordings of improvised concerts and is inspired by Petr Saxe's book about the world of dreams.
