About

Maok is the stage name of Martin Tesák, a Slovak musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer born in Bratislava in 1974. For over 17 years he has been creating improvised music that blends ambient, ethnic and psychedelic elements, with more than 25 albums to his name. He composed the score for Juraj Jakubisko's film Bathory and for several documentaries by Pavol Barabáš, and regularly performs in churches, planetariums and other atmospheric venues across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

    In April 2025, the first christening of the album Oneiro took place in the Czech Republic - a concert at the Novoměstská Town Hall in Prague.
