Magic Sam

Magic Sam, born Samuel Gene Maghett (1937–1969), was an American blues guitarist and singer from Chicago. His style blended traditional Chicago blues with a smoother, more melodic approach, earning him a central place in the West Side Chicago blues scene. He died at just 32, but recordings such as West Side Soul (1967) cemented his lasting influence.
