Louis Cole (born 1986, Los Angeles) is an American drummer, composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music sits at the crossroads of jazz, funk and electronic music. He built his career independently - first as part of the duo Knower with Genevieve Artadi - before signing to Brainfeeder. His 2022 album Quality Over Opinion earned two Grammy nominations, and in 2024 he released the orchestral album nothing with the Dutch Metropole Orkest.
Knower (Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi) released on February 5, 2025 the EP some thingies with four tracks including live versions of older hits.
Louis Cole released on August 9, 2024 the orchestral album nothing recorded with the Dutch Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley on the Brainfeeder label.
In August 2024, Cole described in an interview for NPR working with a choir as a completely new experience and confirmed that he is actively engaged in composing for larger vocal ensembles.
In October 2024, Louis Cole performed with Metropole Orkest at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw as part of the European tour for the album nothing.
At the end of November 2025, additional performances of Louis Cole & Metropole Orkest are scheduled in Eindhoven (November 29) and Utrecht (November 30).
