Lilacs & Champagne is the alias of Alex Hall and Emil Amos, both core members of the Portland post-rock band Grails. As a duo they make sample-based music that sits somewhere between instrumental hip-hop, ambient and found-sound collage - drawing comparisons to Madlib and MF Doom. Their album *Fantasy World* leans into soft TV music and children's choirs layered over unexpectedly dark material.
