Lev Sandyuk

About

Lev Sandyuk is a Moscow-based pianist, singer and artistic director of the Klezmasters orchestra, which he founded. His repertoire spans Odessa songs, klezmer, Balkan tunes and chanson, with live improvisation and storytelling at the core of every performance. The orchestra has toured Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, France, the Netherlands and the United States, and appeared in Pavel Lungin's film Poor Relatives (2004). Sandyuk trained at the Moscow Art Theatre School studio and also leads the Shalman Band.
