Lesní zvěř | Rabbit Slow
An evening of instrumental nu-jazz with Lesní zvěř and introspective singer-songwriter Rabbit Slow at Klub Alterna.
Lesní zvěř is a Brno-based band formed in early 2001 by members of the groups Chorchestr and Swordfishtrombones. The core trio of Jiří Hradil (keyboards), Martin Čech (drums) and Marek Steyer (trumpet) blends nu-jazz, acoustic drum'n'bass and psychedelia into a sound that shifts freely between tight composition and open improvisation. Their self-titled debut came out in 2009 on Indies Scope; the band has since played festivals across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Mexico. A collaboration with the Moravian folk ensemble Horňácká muzika Petra Mičky produced the joint project Hrubá Hudba.
Lesní zvěř released the single "Passions" (May 17, 2024) as a preview of the upcoming new album; the band returns to the purely instrumental form of a trio.
The band performed in November 2024 at Barrák Club in Ostrava.
The single "Passions" was included in the review of 75 musical moments of 2024 according to David Věžník.
Lesní zvěř is featured in the program of the Crossroads Music 2025 festival.
