Laibach
Slovenian pioneers of industrial sound and conceptual art, Laibach bring their provocative aesthetic and new album MUSICK to Brno. Known for bold reinterpretations of classic songs and exploration of totalitarian imagery.
Laibach is a Slovenian avant-garde group formed in 1980 in the mining town of Trbovlje, known for their deliberately ambiguous use of totalitarian and militaristic imagery. The band's name is the historical German name for Ljubljana - a reference to the Nazi occupation of Slovenia in World War II. As the musical wing of the Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK) collective, which they co-founded in 1984, they rank among the most distinctive acts in European industrial and avant-garde music; banned in Yugoslavia, they became a national cultural icon after Slovenian independence. They are widely recognised for their industrial-style cover versions of pop hits, and in 2015 became the first Western rock group to perform a full concert in North Korea.
Laibach released a new studio album MUSICK on May 1, 2026 via Mute Records - their first album with original material since Spectre (2014).
The Prague concert as part of the MUSICK tour sold out; the tour runs across Europe from May to October 2026.
In October 2025, Laibach released the single Yom Kippur.
In May 2025, Laibach released the symphonic album Alamut, recorded with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles, inspired by Vladimir Bartol's novel.
In December 2024, Laibach released the album Opus Dei Revisited - a reworking of their breakthrough 1987 album with remixes by original producer Rick Conning.
