Festival Uprostřed
Summer festival in central Brno with music and cultural events.
Kristýna Drášilová heads the education department at Filharmonie Brno, where she also works as a lecturer and concert host for children, schools and families. She manages and co-creates the Mozartovy děti (Mozart's Children) festival - now in its sixteenth year - which gives talented pupils from South Moravian music schools the chance to perform alongside professional musicians. She also writes scripts for and hosts V orchestru, an innovative concert format in which the audience sits among the players.
Drášilová wrote the script and moderated the project In the Orchestra: Music and History (February 2026), in which the Brno Philharmonic combined classical music with the theme of power and history - from Handel through Beethoven and Shostakovich to Smetana.
At the 16th Mozart's Children festival, for the first time a jury composed of philharmonic musicians and music school directors selected the talents; nearly seventy young musicians joined the orchestra.
The Brno Philharmonic's educational programs recorded record attendance of 6,308 listeners in January 2025; the In the Orchestra project was completely sold out in February 2025.
Drášilová moderated the February cycle In the Orchestra: How Time Went for 1,747 secondary school and gymnasium students across fourteen performances.
The Mozart's Children 2026 festival culminates with a Gala Concert at the Janáček Theatre (6. 6.) and a Concert of Child Soloists at the Besední House (10. 6.).
