About

Krása Quartet is a Czech string quartet founded in 2012 at the Prague Conservatory under cellist Tomáš Strašil. The ensemble takes its name from Czech Jewish composer Hans Krása, who perished in Auschwitz, and has built its identity around the music of Terezín composers alongside the classical chamber canon. The quartet won second prize at the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Competition in 2019 and collaborated with the Prague National Theatre on the ballet Vertigo from 2016 to 2019. In 2025 it released its debut album, Youth, on the Animal Music label.
