Konstantin Yershov was a Soviet film director of Russian origin who worked at Mosfilm studio. He made his mark with the feature debut Vij (1967), an adaptation of Gogol's story widely regarded as the first Soviet horror film to stand alongside international genre productions. He also worked as an actor.
