About

Komorní orchestr Akademie Praha (KOA) was founded in 1987 at the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences by a group of its staff who were amateur music enthusiasts. Today it has around forty members - scientists, students and other music lovers - and operates as a fully-fledged smaller symphony orchestra. Its repertoire spans Baroque to the 20th century, with past programmes including Orff's Carmina Burana, Janáček's Glagolitic Mass and Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
