KLEZMASTERS is a Moscow-based ensemble led by pianist Lev Sandyuk, founded in 2003 by classical music students who met through Hillel. The band plays klezmer, Odessa songs and Balkan music, billing itself as Russia's only genuine klezmer orchestra. Over the years it has toured Russia, Lithuania, France, the Netherlands and the United States, and has collaborated with poet Lev Rubinstein and musician Psoy Korolenko.
Lev Sandyuk performed in Moscow in a program dedicated to Alexander Vertinsky together with actress Alyona Babenko and clarinetist Sergey Shitov.
Klezmasters performed at the Central House of Journalists in Moscow with a spring concert.
Klezmasters completed their first tour of the USA, where they performed in the San Francisco Bay Area region.
