King Size: RockOpera, Ľahká Múza, Viktor Hait 70 + Guests
A celebration of 20 years of RockOpera Praha, 40 years of King Size, and Viktor Hait's 70th birthday, featuring live performances and an exhibition.
King Size is a Prague rock band founded in 1987 by keyboardist and composer Milan Steigerwald and vocalist and lyricist Pavla Forest. The group made its name in the 1990s with a raw guitar-and-synth sound and Forest's expressive voice, touring internationally and charting in Czech hitparades. Since 2006 the same musicians have formed the live backbone of RockOpera Praha, a theatrical rock company staging original operas based on world literature.
On May 2, 2026, a theatrical premiere of the new rock opera King Size: RockOpera took place at RockOpera Praha, which depicts the behind-the-scenes of Czech show business and the life story of the theater's founders.
At the premiere, original compositions by King Size, previously unreleased songs and new pieces were performed; among the guests were Kamil Střihavka, Pavla Forest with her daughter Maru Steigerwald, and Daniela Langrová.
On the RockOpera Praha website, a tour of the ensemble to Ostrava was announced for 2025 as part of the theater's touring program.
In 2023, RockOpera Praha released a reissue of the compilation album King Size: Poslední Mohykán z města with 13 tracks on Spotify.
