Kim Salmon (born 24 January 1957, Bunbury, Western Australia) is an Australian rock musician and songwriter whose influence on alternative music stretches well beyond his home country. As the founder of The Scientists from the late 1970s, he helped shape what would later be called grunge - without particularly trying to. Alongside the Scientists he co-founded Beasts of Bourbon; in 2004 he was inducted into the West Australian Music Industry Association Hall of Fame and in 2007 into the Music Victoria Awards Hall of Fame.
